What insanity looks like

Suffers of mental health in India are often neglected and
marginalized. Those who suffer from acute and chronic mental
health issues, everything from depression to schizophrenia, are
often at the mercy of underfunded institutions. Social and
cultural stigmatization and fear of the mentally ill persist,
despite this being a universal human problem. These photos,
taken in 2015, are a collection of moments that illustrate the
state of mental health in India and try and shed some light on
an issue that is too often neglected.
