The Hunt & Gather Project is an ongoing documentary of a
group of people involved in a project in experimental
archaeology- living and practicing skills of the stone age.
Leading the project is Lynx Vilden, an expert in the
technologies people practiced before the advent of
agriculture and metal. Each year people from around the
world participate in her yearlong Stone Age Living Project,
where they learn the critical skills and manufacture the gear
and clothing necessary for survival in a harsh subalpine
wilderness. The goal is to live through the project period
while learning to survive indefinitely with only stone-age
technologies— without a trace of the modern world.
