Returning from the Louvre at the end of a summer day in July, I
noticed a strange silence on the Rue de Rivoli which seemed totally
devoid of traffic. I turned to face the setting sun which cast a
powerful light the length of this iconic thoroughfare. I had a few
seconds to step onto the road and capture this memorable image.
