While traveling through the Northern areas of my country Pakistan I
cam across a number of figures and personalities. The area is
surrounded by mountains and valleys. You feel so close to nature when
you are there. I was shooting random pictures when I visited a 10th
Century fort with my wife and there was this old women sitting there
and waving her sickel while saying something in local language. She
wasn't attacking or anything, it was just an expression. I just took a
shot with my camera and it seemed that she was irritated by it so I did
not attempt any more shots and moved away. But I have always been
fascinated by this image. Years of toll and life history is hidden behind
this face that always tempts you to discover all those stories that those
wrinkles are trying to tell you.
At another location I came across this innocence in the form of a child,
a boy who was just looking towards me with wide eyes.
The last photograph is of centuries old utensils used to cook and serve
food. This area is more than 6000 feet above the sea level. It really
gets cold and low in pressure which makes cooking a real hard job.
Some of these utensils are carved out of stone and the rest made
using metallic rock.
This was a leisure tour and I do not normally go a takes such snaps as
I only enjoy and have fun but these were few of those moments that
took me away from that leisurely thought and made me pick up my
camera. I feel these are worth sending to this competition and sharing
with you guys.
