In 2010 I was in Vietnem volunteering in an orphanage with physical and mentally disabled
children. Most of the children were abandoned by their parents and had no abilities to
survive by themselves. It seems as if they could only spend their innocent lives in the
orphanage. Working together with other volunteers from other countries, we fed, played,
and talked with them, even though we could only communicate by body language. We all knew
that there was so little we could do in this short time besides spending time with them,
but we hoped, at the very least, that they could feel loved.
