People are often judged based on their appearance. In this series, I question what it is, if anything, that one can deduce from another person's appearance. I explore the tension between the way someone wants to present him or herself and how that person is viewed by others.
Anna den Drijver , born in The Hague (Netherlands) in 1975 , studied at the Photo Academy in Amsterdam.
Her work is about growing up and the quest for identity . The underlying struggles that will accompany them, she attempts to expose. The contrast between the hidden inner world and visible outer world plays an important role, as does the subconscious .
The subconscious Anna attempts to portray in her work. Therefore, her images are sometimes dreamy, others are alienating and others associative. Anna works in an investigative way in order to create her images in an organic way. She uses both analog and digital techniques .
