Pokkari is a Japanese word referring to emptiness or void. At the same time, it connotes a sense of hovering and mid-air suspension.
In this series of photographs, I explore the line between documentary and fiction as I illustrate a subject's ongoing search for connection with the places and things around her, pondering the roots of restlessness and uncertain identity.
The photographs show details and relationships from a space floating just above scenes that are true-to-life yet from a reimagined reality.
