Finding Hope

A young Burmese migrant finds a pair of shorts in the pile of rubbish at the dumpsite where he lives. Many Burmese cross the border illegally over to Mae Sot to escape the hardship and persecution in Myanmar.

However, their status as undocumented migrants leaves them with little chance, if any, for decent accommodation and employment. Some hundreds of Burmese migrants live by the garbage dumpsite where they scavenge for reusable items and sometimes food.
