Juergen Pollak began his career in photography as a photographic
assistant in Paris. After returning
to Germany, his interest in the artistic side of photography
grew and he opted to study for a degree in visual communications at the University of the Arts in Berlin which initially led him into the world of film. In Berlin and later in Vienna he co-produced various international
feature films. In setting up his photographic studio, room 9, in Vienna he turned his attention increasingly
back to photography. After co-founding and then sitting on the managing board of the first German-language
Internet TV channel, webfreetv.com AG, based in Vienna and in Berlin, he redirected his focus back to moving images. 2001 in New York he witnessed the September 11 attacks on the World Trade. Since returning in 2002 Juergen Pollak has been living and working
in Stuttgart as a freelance photographer. In 2007 and 2009 he published his books "Stuttgart - Lichter einer Grosstadt" and Berlin _ Lichter einer Grosstadt". In 2009 he was finalist in the category "architecture" of the Hasselblad Master competition.
