?Interpersonal?

Matthias in dual relationships.
Appreciation, perception, authenticity, basic trust, emotional proximity as well as presuppositions or fears and wishes make up one of the basic pillars of interpersonal relationships.

The gaze into the mirror and the gaze of the others (the outer world) creates a first dual relationship between the self and the non-self.

Non-verbal communication ? touch, communication about spatial demand (proximity-distance behaviour) and visual communication (gesticulation, facial expression);
enveloped in the photo surface, depicted in two dimensions.

What takes place ? deliberate self-depiction, voluntary or involuntary self-depiction, manipulation by the photographer, or are the subjects of the portrait projection spaces for the outer world to fill at well ? are they but a mirror for what we want to see?
