Thailand: Victims of Politics

The political impasse in Thailand in the past three years caused the economy to suffer as investors fleed the country. And the consequences are that poorer families suffered much. Here children from a poor family plyed the busy streets in Bangkok to sell flowers, symbols of peace in the country. They did so from morning to night, and hoped to earn some extra money to help the family during this crisis.

Jimmy Lam studied at the International Center of Photography. He specialised in documenting the cultural and social aspect of Asia. He travels throughout Asia to preserve its people and culture through photography. He has books published: Greater Tibet; Faraway Faces - the vanishing world of southwest China; and Lives in the balance -street people of Asia; and Treasures of Indochina.
