Two friends from the West African country Mali comfort eachother in detention in the city of Nouadhibou, Islamic Republic of Mauritania, after being caught during their 'illegal' crossing by boat to the Canary Islands. They are now waiting to be send back home.

Numerous assignments as anthropological researcher, photographer and assistant on documentary projects in countries like : Afghanistan (2003, 2004), Australia (1999, 2000 & 2001), Brazil (2005), Burma/Myanmar (2005-2006), China (2006, 2008), Kosovo/a (2006), Mali (2000, 2006), Mauritania (2001, 2004, 2006), Senegal (2001, 2006), South Africa (2006, 2007 & 2008) as well as throughout Europe.
