Australian born Shara Henderson (b1978) graduated with Distinction from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts (Photography).
After working as an intern to Mary Ellen Mark in New York City, Shara moved to London and on the 7th November 2005, Shara was announced the winner of the Schweppes Photographic Portrait Prize for her image ?Girl With Baby, Poland, 2004?. The exhibition was held at The National Portrait Gallery, London and then travelled throughout the UK.
In January 2007 Shara had her first solo exhibition at 'The Autopsy Gallery', Melbourne, Australia, and was again accepted into the National Portrait 2007.
Henderson is now working freelance in London for such publications as The Guaridan Weekend Magazine, Cosmoploitan Magazine and The Observer.
In 2007 Shara was once again selected to exhibited at The National Portrait Gallery for the National Portrait Prize 2007.
