Dancer from the Dance

This project is dedicated to the world of a ballet ? its onstage magic and backstage hardship.
The images, taken from around the world allow me to share intimate and special moments with all who are open to this amazing world.

I spent several years as a freelance photojournalist traveling and living in Asia, Africa and the Europe. Some of my projects included HIV orphans in Eritrea, people reviving a communal church in Russia, classical ballet in China and Russia, fisherman in Macao etc.
Approaching subjects visually I was always interested in what was inside and finding the space for interpretation â?? turning from news and editorial photography I began to explore the realm where the inner and outside worlds merge.
I like the challenges of completely different subject matters from an exploration of the complex political and social consequences of regime change in Post Communist Russia to an attempt to probe the sensibility and techniques of pictorial aesthetics at the turn of 20th century.
