Jolie - Rape Victim, DR Congo

GOMA, DR CONGO - August 2, 2008: Over 40 000 women are estimated to have been raped during the last 10 years of conflict in eastern DR Congo. Jolie, 31, was tortured and raped by 6 soliders of an unknown militia in October 2007 while her 5 children watched. After confiding in her husband, he left her. Ten months later, she is being treated, at Kyeshero Medical Centre.
