novel invoking desire, inflaming the
imagination.The image was conceived for an
Erotic Art Competition in Perth , Australia.
In my twenties I was drawn to the boobs by Henry Miller, Sexus, Nexus and Plexus being favourites.Erotic Art was also of interest.
Jeff Koons, Robert Mapplethorpe,Brassai, Bill Henson to name a few.
BIOGRAPHY
Born in Montenegro 1964,immigrated to Australia with family in 1973,settling in Newcastle, NSW. Began a Bachelor of Architecture Degree in Newcastle in 1983-1985.Withdrew to pursue career in Graphic Design. Completed an Associate Diploma in Visual Arts at the Nepean College of Advanced Education with Major in Design and Photography. Class Involvement Award, sponsored by Tomasetti Paper, for outstanding results.
1987-June 1991 worked in various Design Agencies, including freelance illustration and Photography.July 1991 travelled through Europe, exploring life and absorbing Art, living and working in London for 18 months. September 1992 returned to Australia settling in Sydney. July 1993 gave birth to first child and devoted life to full time mothering.
1999 to present began pursuing career as an Artist.
Artist Statement:
My themes revolve around emotions, truth, and the human predicament. Since finishing my Visual Arts Diploma in 1989 with the Photographer Robyn Stacey and Dennis Del Faverro, my passion for photography has remained strong. During times of illness with Post Natal Depression I was not able to focus on my goals, in fact I thought that I had lost myself, and my vision of pursuing Photography as a profession.
What I found after becoming well was that it never leaves you.
Since 2006 I have been realising my goals and have fervently tried to establish myself as a Professional Portrait Photographer and Artist.
At the end of last year Sara Roney in Paddington has taken me into her Gallery and I will be working towards an Exhibition.
