Self-taught photographer since age 13, pursued careers in college teaching (English, French, Italian) and jazz piano then weddings/portraits/events. Developed fine art landscape practice with focus on geology, 2019 book: Earthforms: Intimate Portraits of Our Planet. Discovered ways of turning abstract and figurative rock and ice photos into fine art, which became the 196-page book Faces in the Rocks: Beyond Landscape to Psycho-Geological Photography (2025).
