In Kenya’s Nyekweri forest ecosystem, land once held communally is being divided into fenced plots for settlement, farming, and grazing. As forests shrink and movement corridors narrow, people, livestock, and wildlife are forced into increasing overlap. These photographs explore the quiet tensions of a changing landscape, where livelihoods, conservation, and survival now exist side by side in one of the last remaining habitats of the giant ground pangolin in Kenya, revealing how ecological change is reshaping both land and daily life across the ecosystem over time and space.

Georgina Goodwin is a Kenya-based documentary and conservation photographer with over 20 years of experience working across Africa. Her work focuses on community-led conservation, Indigenous knowledge, and the connection between people and place.
Georgina is an Associate Fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers, Canon Ambassador 2018-2021, and founder of GGImages Media, where she mentors photographers and champions ethical visual storytelling.
