Climate change is probably the greatest threat humanity has ever faced. Germany, with its stable economy and favorable geography, appears well-positioned to meet climate goals. However, the reality is far more complex and challenging.‘Fragments of Climate Change’ is a kaleidoscopical examination of how we deal with the climate catastrophe from multiple perspectives. Each of his photographs offers us insight into a fragment of a larger story that depicts the social and environmental landscape in contemporary Germany.
Gil Bartz is a freelance photographer and cinematographer based in Frankfurt Main. He was born in Braunschweig, Germany in 1981. After completing his studies in 2002, he started to work in the television industry as a camera–assistant. In 2007 he quit his job to become a cinematographer.
He studied Cinematography at the University for Film and Television “Konrad Wolf“ in Potsdam – Babelsberg. He graduated in 2012. Since 2020 he is working on a long term photo project about the effect of the climate change.
