People from the Zurich hippie community, studio portraits, no retouching. Those nude portraits speak about self-reliance and connection, feminine power and masculine softness, and fluidity of gender roles and social expectations. I show the raw inner part of people, stepping out from their closing and social roles, and just being their real selves. When you think about Zurich - the first things that come to your mind are banks and expensive boutiques. Look at real Swiss people, strong and soft creative individuals. The hippie community of Zurich is as far from expectations as you can imagine.
Anna Korbut (b. 1989) is a visual artist from Ukraine working with photography and mixed media, currently based in Switzerland. She explores the relationships between humans and nature and deeply engages with Anthropocene issues, starting a dialogue with science at a time of advanced climate change. Anna also delves into the individual's inner world and interpersonal connections. She experiments with digital and analogue techniques, drawing inspiration from mountains' beauty, Augusto Giacometti's and Helen Frankenthaler's vivid colours, Auguste Rodin's sculptures, and Erich Fromm's texts.
