The wrong side of freedom

Abandoned buildings are home to many youths in Luanda. They were forced to be outcasts and live on the run from the police. Some escaped from orphanages where they were mistreated, others were thrown out of their homes by their parents. They survive precariously in a city that has always been hostile to them and has never given them opportunities for a normal life. Drugs are part of their daily lives, helping them to stave off hunger and tolerate the fevers caused by malaria. But their worst enemy is the police, who constantly chase them and want to expel them to a place that doesn't exist
