Migrant Journeys Before the U.S. Arrival

This project aims to capture the complex and challenging odyssey of migrants traversing Mexico in their quest for a safer future in the United States. Through a series of images, the journey is documented, starting from the perilous passage on the train known as 'La Bestia,' all the way to the crucial moments of confrontation at the border with the Texas National Guard

David Peinado Romero, born in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico, in 1986, began his career in photography by capturing special moments at local events. His self-taught background encompasses sociology and arts, identifying himself as a documentarian of reality rather than an artist.

What started as an interest in preserving personal moments evolved into a need to document everyday life, leading him to become a conflict photojournalist. His experience at the newspaper "La Polaka" during times of high violence in Ciudad Juárez provided him with a strong journalistic ethic.
