Bayuda Sudan

When I started my journey across the Sudanese Bayuda desert in early 2023, I'd have no clue how close the country was to come to a civil war. My purpose for the trek across the Bayuda desert was to document the indigenous tribes that live in remote sections of the desert. Upon arrival to Sudan in January 2023 several things were made abundantly clear the civil unrest was palpable. With the youth staging protests in Khartoum, blocking off bridges and highways. An immense military presence was felt immediately.
