Taken in Northern Kenya which is mostly arid and semi-desert. There is no running water in rural Kenya except at water stations from which these women collect their daily water. Carts are filled up here to for distribution to the countryside.

During a severe drought in 2017 people had to resort to digging for water.

The cart system provides a lifeline for those especially in the arid North of Kenya.
