Yuen Ching (Hesther) Ng
According to the latest figures from the United Nations Human Rights Council (as of 24th May 2022), more than 14 million Ukrainians are displaced due to the Russian invasion since 24th February 2022. Half of these displaced Ukrainians left their country for the neighbourhood country such as Poland, Romania, and Hungary.
"Goodbyes" documented the moments when Ukrainians departed from their loved ones at Lviv train station in Ukraine at the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine War in March 2022.
Yuen Ching (Hesther) Ng (b. 1992), a London-based Hong Kong photographer, who is currently studying BA (Hon) Photojournalism and Documentary Photography from the University of the Arts London (UAL).
She practises as a freelancer press photographer in London on top of her studying. Her works can be found in various national and international media outlets such as The Guardian, Forbes, BBC, The Times, Metro, and Yahoo! News, CNN, TIME, and the Wall Street Journal etc.
