"Mexico City: Hope and Despair" series is about Im's objective observation when he visited the city. He tries to show the positive and negative atmosphere of the city.
Ray Im is a Korean-born, American, lens-based artist and ceramicist. His practice basically focuses on the contextualization of traditional languages inherent in ceramics and photography to discover a contemporary material conversation between the two, but from his pure photography side constantly pursues documenting the world through the viewfinder he seeks.
