In the suburbs of Chimbote a second city has been created called New Chimbote also knows as "Las Invasiones" (the invasions) because of the unstoppable number of arrivals. These large slums are an infinity of shacks attached to each other made by mats and cardboards. People coming from the Andes looking for work live in extreme poverty. Probably the slums of Chimbote are the poorest place in Perù without no running water, no toilet, gas, and violence is the order of the day making conditions of life unsustainable.
Emiliano Pinnizzotto is a Photoreporter and Visual Journalist, based in Rome, Italy.
Born in Rome on 25 June 1983 started to taking pictures since as a child.
Through the years began to direct his passion toward photo-reportage especially in social, anthropology, and travel photography. He exposed his images in several exhibitions, collective and personal, in various italian cities and abroad like: London, Paris, Dubai, Lima, Sintra, Portland ecc
He published his images in several newspaper and magazine and some images in Photographic Books edited by Graffiti Press.
