Current laws and regulations do not adequately protect the animals in Turkey. Violence, especially against stray animals, is increasing. It is possible to see the traces of the rising violence in mainstream and social media.
20 thousand stray dogs live in Van, Turkey. The photographer, who has spent a very long time with stray dogs, aims to represent these animals not as automats or objects of fear but as living beings that are stuck in human life, suffering, feeling pleasure, and each having a distinct personality.
