This series captures Philadelphia in 2020 amidst a Covid-19 quarantine, then by a sudden unrest from marches demanding social justice and reform over recent killings under police brutality, followed by a historic and bizarre presidential election that put Philadelphia in the spotlight after being singled out by a catch phrase.
"Bad Things Happen in Philadelphia" is a project that documents the state of the world through my neighborhood during a year when everything changed. Shot mostly in 35mm, I felt this eventful year would be best captured and remembered as a powerful time capsule.
