Avalanche

Set in the ancient landscape around Targangal (Mt Kosciuszko) in the Australian Alps, Ngarigo country, Avalanche explores the psychological terrain of a world disrupted by pandemic and confronted by the intensifying impacts of global warming. Australia's Black Summer bushfires immediately preceded the global pandemic, and devastated much of the vulnerable alpine environment. Avalanche reflects upon the shock of disruption to our status quo and the fragility of what we take for granted. It reflects upon notions of progress and the contradictions and existential challenges of the Anthropocene.
