When Whiteness Creeps

This photo is a close-up moment from a new dance piece that the dancer/choreographer is creating in response to the police violence against Blacks, the public demonstrations, and the foregrounding of discussions around white supremacy and systematic racism.
The new work seeks to represent how whiteness in all of its social, political and cultural forms envelops, entraps, and suffocates the Black body in itself and as it represents Black person hood.
