One night in November 2007 Janne phoned:
”Eva, I’ve made up my mind. I’m going to have a sex change!”
That phone call marked the beginning of my photo narrative about Janna and her journey toward a sex reassignment, from man to woman.
Having the courage to deviate from the norm and the determination to fight for the right to be yourself no matter the price are the human powers I wish to use my photos to explore and illustrate. This is a story about matters including identity, the effort to be oneself, and the longing for love.
I am a Swedish photographer and artist born 1959.
My passion is to tell stories about real life and pictures that focus on the human being and her life conditions. Besides contracted photographing I also work on my own projects. www.evalie.se
