Add a drought and the stresses on delivering maternal healthcare
become acute. Women often have to walk for hours to get to
rudimentary health care facilities. Complicated pregnancies
become life threatening. UNOPS is building new facilities closer to
the expecting mothers and supporting mobile health units that
can cover more remote areas.
