The state of Santa Catarina is considered the largest fishing port in Brazil.
About 60% of all the sardines fished in the country, pass through the city
of Itajaí.
It was 3 months following the hard life of fishermen who spend up to 3
months offshore without seeing their friends and family
Lucas Amorelli, 33, born in Guaratinguetá, started his career in 2002 while studying Advertising and Propaganda at the University of Vale de Itajai - UNIVALI (SC). Since 2006 he has been traveling in America. With several works published in vehicles from three continents, such as National Geographic, BBC, The Guardian, Americas Quarterly, Al Jazeera, UOL, G1, Terra, Estadão, Folha de São Paulo and in the newspapers of the RBS Group, as Zero Hour and Daily Catarinense, where he acted. He was an international correspondent during the Rio 2016 Olympics / Paralympics for the Russian Open Russia Media TV.
Since 2015 he has been part of Fujifilm's X Photographers project and is currently a collaborator with the french Le Pictorium Agency.
Its most recent achievement is the Latin America Photography Award 2017, granted by American Photography, the American Association of Photography.
Awards My last award was in Latin America Photography last year.
Currently I work as a collaborator in the agency Le Pictorium and I am hired from the newspaper Diário de Santa Maria in Rio Grande do Sul.
