Alireza Mafiha (23) and Ali Sarvari (20), who had been caught on a security camera robbing a man and stabbing his bag with belongings worth around $20, were executed at the front of crowd in a public park at the centre of the Iranian capital, Tehran. Iran is the second-highest executioner in the world. In 2013, the death sentence is believed to have been carried out on some 600 people.
