The beauty of Lake Natron

  • Prize

Lake Natron is formed by hot springs rich in minerals such as sodium, alkaline and magnesium. High levels of evaporation in the dry season cause the alkalinity of the lake to reach a pH as high as 9 to 10.5 and the water to become as shallow as tens of centimeters, thus revealing the colorful patterns at the bottom of the lake, like an uncanny workmanship of nature. The lake is the paradise for the flamingos, which often fly over the lake in groups. In September 2019, I was lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time to capture this photo.

The camera is my third eye to explore the wonder of the world. Although every photo I took is an expression of my feelings, what I love the most is wildlife photography. I hope to take more beautiful photos in my lifetime and leave to the world the most lovely memories of mine.
