The village of Gaggjali is awfully close to the front line of Mosul
in Iraq.
Every day arriving there, On foot, by cart, even a ride on a pick-
up many families fleeing war directed towards the nearby
refugee camps.
In the village there is a small hospital which run by Academy of
Emergency Medicines, which provide first aid services to those
who have need.
Often the doctors must work with the lack of material and in
particular with the lack of blood for transfusions.
Once rescued people are being transported by ambulance to the
nearest available and better equipped hospital.
I was born in Taranto, an industrial city on south east Italy, graduated in archeology at Bari University in 2005, former restorer (8 years experienced), my first pictures was about my friends and my favorite music bands.
Started to work as photographer from 2013, first with gossip and entertainment, the same year I started my collaboration with a small agency in Brescia and collaborations with ANSA.
In 2014 I decided to follow the crisis on East Ukraine, I had to stay only two weeks, I have been there two months.
I come back to Ukraine other times, spending six months, I documented the life of internal refugees, orphans and the normal people on both sides of the fire lines.
At the end of 2016 I went to Iraq to document the life in the liberated areas.
