The Polar Bear cubs must gain weight quickly, before the harsh
winter comes, in order to survive. The mother is breast feeding
them with super fat milk every couple of hours while starting to
feed them meat whenever she succeeds in hunting. Still, the sad
fact is that 75% of polar bear cubs will not live to be two years old.
I spent many hours in the deep snow of Svalbard, to get close and
personal with this single mother Polar Bear. It was worth it when
she felt comfortable enough for this amazingly intimate behaviour
in front ofmy camera.
My greatest life passions, nature and photography, takes me into the wild. As an adventurous wildlife photographer, I travel in extreme conditions to the remotest places on earth, capturing images of rarely viewed animals in their natural habitats. I believe that a unique perspective, in photography and life, can actualize any vision. My lifelong mission is to take pictures that were never taken before, through which I’m able to raise awareness to pressing environmental issues.
