Three Burmese fishermen glide across Inle Lake at sunset, silhouetted against a warm orange sky. They’re standing on traditional boats, each balancing on one leg while rowing with the other, a distinctive, almost dancing posture. Cone-shaped nets rest on the boats, hinting at traditional fishing methods. The low sun sits just above the distant hills, casting long reflections that shimmer across the rippling water.
The whole image feels quiet and rhythmic, human figures moving gently in sync with nature, bathed in soft warm light.

Jean-Louis Carvès is a French photographer living in the Paris area. He studied photographic techniques, explored the work of renowned artists, and developed his skills and artistic vision through internships and masterclasses (with Olivier Föllmi, Cécile Domens, Reza Deghati, Jean-Christophe Béchet, Michael Portillo, Arnaud Baumann, Clarke Drahce, David Ken ...). His photographic practice has evolved and expanded through numerous trips abroad, encounters, and exchanges, as well as through his use of drones. His work has been recognized by the Fédération Photographique de France and abroad.
