My series documents how the press covered the Trump administration’s aggressive deportation policies at U.S. Immigration Court in N.Y.C. In 2025, credentialed members of the media photographed and recorded on the 12th and 14th floors at 26 Federal Plaza. The press shared the same narrow, starkly lit hallways with masked federal agents making detainments. Along with daily detainments, the media witnessed family separations. They also interviewed politicians, attorneys, and activists to cover this story. Once, a member of the press was knocked to the floor and transported to the hospital.
