New Caledonia, a territory between tradition and science. Six researchers portrayed with the objects of their fieldwork: a dugong skull, a nickel ore fragment, a phytoplankton extract, a plant from traditional Kanak plant medicine, a mapping drone, a fossil giant clam shell. Each object tells a story specific to an island in the throes of change, where Melanesian culture and field science have long been deeply intertwined.
