In this digital world, I hesitate to show my daughter’s face. Once an image is shared, it no longer belongs only to her, and I wonder if this world is truly kind enough. This portrait was taken at home when she was nine. She chose a more mature expression, holding back part of herself. Her readiness to step forward and my instinct to protect her met in this moment.
