Each winter, ice fishing shacks emerge across frozen lakes—temporary architectures suspended between land and water. Isolated or clustered like small villages, they mark a seasonal return shaped by ritual and repetition. Through quiet, minimalist compositions, this series reflects on shelter, belonging, and the fragile threshold between permanence and disappearance as warming winters reshape the landscape they depend on.

Shawn Moreton is an award-winning professional photographer and multidisciplinary artist based in Cantley, Québec, Canada.
