This series captures the remarkable hunting behavior of kingfishers in their natural river habitat, revealing moments too fast for the human eye to perceive fully. From suspended dives to explosive water exits and successful catches, each frame highlights the precision, agility, and instinct essential for survival. Photographed from a low water-level perspective, the images emphasize the intimate connection between predator and environment while showcasing the beauty, power, and fragile balance of life in the wild.

Partha Roy is a Singapore-based, self-taught photographer from India and an I.T. engineer by profession. What began as a passion gradually became his creative identity. Drawn to travel, wildlife, landscapes, and cityscapes, he uses photography to reveal emotions and stories often hidden within everyday moments and nature’s compositions. Through his artistic vision and understanding of aesthetics, Partha transforms fleeting scenes into expressive visual narratives, using his camera as a medium for storytelling that transcends boundaries.

Awards Partha’s dedication to photography has earned him numerous international accolades, including awards from Travel Photographer of the Year (TPOTY), Chromatic Awards, World Photography Cup, World Nature Photography Awards, TIPA, and Monochrome Photography Awards. He has also received multiple honors and distinctions from FIAP, PSA, GPU, and IAAP, including prestigious titles such as EFIAP, EFIP, GPU CR2, GPU VIP2, and E IAAP.
