Modern cities are landscapes of relentless geometry—worlds of straight lines and acute angles that define and confine our existence. This series explores the architectural paradox: how precision serves as both a framework for civilization and a boundary for the individual. Through a high-contrast "noir" aesthetic, I isolate solitary figures within rhythmic patterns to visualize the tension between human agency and systemic constraint. These images capture our choreographed life within a labyrinth where structure dictates the limits of free will.

Lawrence Cheung is a fine-art photographer.

He was trained professionally in photography at the Open University of Hong Kong

Lawrence’s works has received recognitions in the international photography circle. His works were accepted in the Singapore International Photography awards in 2014 - 2016 and Trierenberg Super Circuit in 2015-2017

He obtained an Associateship (Visual Art) and Bronze Exhibitor distinctions from The Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain in 2013 and the Singapore Photographic Society in 2016, respectively
