The In-Between Gaze emerged from forced relocation to another country and the need to understand a place that became home before it became familiar. Neither a visitor’s passing glance nor a local’s settled view, it reflects life between distance and belonging. The diptychs pair separate moments through intuitive affinities, tracing how a new reality is absorbed through fragments, comparisons, and echoes—and how belonging forms without erasing uncertainty or the outsider’s heightened attention.

Sergiy Antonenko is a fine-art photographer based in A Coruña, Spain. His practice explores memory, fragility, resilience and transformation through remote landscapes, water, ice and experimental photographic processes. Working with digital photography and instant images transformed through hand processes, he creates atmospheric series that move between observation and abstraction. His work has received international recognition, including 1st Place at the Fine Art Photography Awards and a PX3 Bronze.
