The title "Vesti la giubba" (Put on the costume) refers to the famous operatic aria about hiding one's heartbreak behind a clown's mask.
It investigates the dichotomy between social appearance and inner turmoil. After a lifetime spent in the shadow of imposed identities, "Vesti la giubba" represents the act of stripping away the wig and the stage makeup. The images capture the tension between my fragility for having been downtrodden and the strength required to reclaim my role in the world, finally stepping out of the script of pain. It is me, finally stop acting in order to find myself.
