This abstract image was captured using part of the façade of the Selfridge’s building located at in the Bull Ring area of Birmingham. My main objective was to emphasise the curved façade of the building as I stood looking upwards from street level.
I decided to edit the image in a black and white fine art style to attract the viewer's eye to the interplay of light and shadow across each of the individual metallic discs which form part of the building's outer surface. The title of the image was influenced by the unending shine of the structure with no defined beginning and end.
Scotland based architecture photographer enjoying the process of continually pushing my photography boundaries.
Ultimately, my photography is about interpretation rather than documentation. I am less concerned with recording a structure exactly as it appears and more interested in conveying how it feels.
