Henriette Benavente was my greatgrandmother. Nazis took her, a Jewish woman of 76 years old, out of her home in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. She was transported by cattle train to Auschwitz. Upon arrival she went through "selection". From here she had to walk to the gaschambers where she was killed. Her body was burned in ovens, and the ashes were then thrown in a pit. This series shows the route of her last steps through Auschwitz in images of today. She was killed just because she was Jewish. This series is intended as a warning against the hate in our current world.
