A study of red, reflection, and shifting perception in Venice

This series explores Venice as a space of unstable perception, where reality and reflection overlap and fragment. Through in-camera multiple exposures, water, architecture, and figures are layered into images that resist a single reading. Inspired by Nicholas Roeg's film Don't Look Now, red appears as a subtle signal of tension and premonition, inviting a slower, uncertain way of looking, where meaning remains open and just beyond clear perception.

With more than three decades of experience, Esra Belgin works primarily in documentary photography, street photography, and photojournalism. Her approach is rooted in observation and authenticity, concentrating on candid moments that reflect social realities and everyday life. Her photographs have been recognized with several awards in national and international competitions.
